The holy Quran is represented in two general formats:

Simple Script
Also known as Imlaa'ei script, is a writing style currently used in Arabic texts.
Uthmani Script
An old-fashion script used by the third Caliph, Uthman, to produce the first standard quran manuscript.

Tanzil Texts

Tanzil provides several quran texts in two categories as described below:

  • Simple Script
    • Simple: Quran text in plain Imlaei script. Recommended for both display and search.
    • Simple Modified: Simple text with special demonstration of Ikhfas and Idghams. Simpler for reading.
    • Simple Minimal: Simple text with minimal number of diacritics and symbols. Suitable for embedding in other texts.
  • Uthmani Script
    • Uthmani: Uthmani text according to Madina Mushaf.
    • Uthmani Minimal: Uthmani text with minimal number of diacritics and symbols.
